சுமார் 16000 கிலோ மீட்டர் வான்வழித் தடத்தில் 17 மணி நேரத்தில் கடந்து சாதனை புரிந்த இந்திய பெண் விமானி ஜோயா அகர்வால் தலைமையில் பெண் விமானிகள் கொண்ட குழுவினர் இந்த சாதனையை நிகழ்த்தி உள்ளனர்.

அமெரிக்காவின் சான்பிரான்சிஸ்கோ முதல், இந்தியாவின் பெங்களூரு வரையுள்ள வழித்தடம்தான் உலகின் மிக நீளமான விமான வழித்தடம். பனிபடர்ந்த வடதுருவத்தை உள்ளடக்கிய, 16,000 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவுகொண்ட இந்த வழித்தடத்தை 17 மணி நேரத்தில் கடந்து சாதனை படைத்துள்ளது பெண் விமானிகள் குழு இந்தக் குழுவின் கேப்டனான, இந்தியப் பெண் விமானி ஜோயா அகர்வாலுக்கு, அமெரிக்க விமான அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் இடம் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 1980-ல் சான்பிரான்சிஸ்கோ சர்வதேச விமான நிலையத்தில் திறக்கப்பட்ட இந்த அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் விமானத் துறையின் வரலாறு தொடர்பான 1,50,000 தொல்பொருட்கள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. ஆனால், இங்கு ஒரு மனிதன் இடம்பெறுவது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும். வியத்தகு சாதனைபுரிந்த ஜோயாவை மக்கள் நீதி மய்யம் மனதாரப் பாராட்டுகிறது.
