மறைந்த எஸ். சந்திரன் (வயது 90), தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள மேரிலான்ட் ஸ்டுடியோ நிறுவனர் பி. சுப்பிரமண்யத்தின் மகன், சிட்டி தியேட்டர்ஸ் இயக்குநர் மற்றும் இம்பீரியல் டிரேடிங் கம்பெனி உரிமையாளர் ஆவார். எஸ். சந்திரன் அவர்கள் தனது குடும்பத்தின் Merryland Studio பாரம்பரியத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து, திரையரங்குகளையும் திரைக்கலைத் துறையையும் வளர்த்தவர். வயது மூப்பின் காரணமாக இன்று (ஜனவரி-6) இயற்கை எய்தினார். நாளை அதாவது ஜனவரி 7 அன்று அவரது இல்லத்தில் இறுதி மரியாதை மற்றும் சடங்குகள் நடைபெறும் என அறியப்படுகிறது.
திரு.S.சந்திரன் அவர்களது இழப்பு கேரள சினிமா மற்றும் திரையரங்கத் துறைக்கு ஓர் பேரிழப்பாக கருதப்படுகிறது.
மக்கள் நீதி மய்யம் தலைவரும் பாராளுமன்ற மாநிலங்களவை உறுப்பினருமான திரு.கமல்ஹாசன் அவர்கள் தனது ட்விட்டர் எக்ஸ் பக்கத்தில் திரு.S. சந்திரன் அவர்களின் மறைவு குறித்து ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல் செய்தியும் அவரின் ஆளுமை குறித்தும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

He was a film producer and the proprietor of the renowned Sri Padmanabha Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram.
